My dad and I visited New Zealand on the way to my study abroad program in Hong Kong. We visited both the North and South Islands. My personal highlight was Milford Sound; the sheer cliff faces were absolutely mind boggling. Overall, the island life and infinite number of sheep made for a memorable trip! It was extremely saddening, however, to read about the colonization, deforestation, and ecological disasters that the country faces (including the presence of said sheep).
